Welcome to Stamp Active

Stamp Active is a voluntary organisation which promotes stamp collecting for young people in the UK. Our website aims to provide information and activities to encourage stamp collecting among young people.

Patron: Rt. Hon Alan Johnson

Alan Johnson is a former Home Secretary and Member of Parliament and was once a postman. He says “Stamp collecting has given many hours of pleasure to millions of people over the years. It is a remarkable offshoot of Rowland Hill’s most famous initiative combining the appreciation of art, geography and communications in one satisfying pursuit.”

Patron: Stephanie Connell

Stephanie Connell, one of the UK’s leading consultants in Art and Antiques, has become a Patron for Stamp Active. She is well known as one of the antique and collectables specialists on the popular BBC series, “The Antique Roadshow”, “Bargain Hunt” and in Series 18 and 19 of the “Antiques Road Trip”. She has explained that her interest in collectables began with stamps… “Antiques and history have been a passion of mine since childhood. I started collecting stamps aged 9 or 10 and dragged my parents to antique shops to help me find more. Once I saw all the other things you could buy that were interesting, that was it!”
