British Youth Stamp Championships Results 2013
The British Youth Stamp Championships are kindly sponsored by Stanley Gibbons. The entries in the 2013 competition were judged by Christine Earle, Brian Asquith and Richard West, with thanks to The Royal Philatelic Society London for providing the facilities. The exhibits are on display at Autumn Stampex.
The Melville Trophy for the best overall exhibit was awarded to Claire Mitchell for ‘What is a Church?’, while the entry ‘The two sides of Christmas’ by Chloe Emery-Davies was felt to be the most promising and was awarded the ADPS Trophy.
The key results were as follows:
Class B (17 and 18)
Rhys Evans: From canoe to Concorde (a history of transport) – Small silver medal and best in class
Class C (14 to 16)
Toby Asson: The American Dream – Small silver medal
Claire Mitchell: What is a church? – Large silver medal, plus best in class and Melville Trophy for best entry
Lynne Mitchell: A Helping Hand – Large silver medal
Class D (12 and 13)
Rachel Foster: Aspects of China – Silver-bronze medal and best in class
Class E (under 12)
Sophie Drake: Queen Elizabeth II: her life and family – Silver-bronze medal
Chloe Emery-Davies: The two sides of Christmas – Silver-bronze medal and ADPS Trophy for the most promising exhibit
Lucy Hobbs: A showcase of what Australia has to offer – Silver-bronze medal
Holly Mayhew: Birds and their habitats – Silver-bronze medal and best in class.
