KIDSTAMPS TO BE RE-LAUNCHED
The popular free postal club for young stamp collectors is to be re-launched following a successful appeal for a new organiser by the Stamp Active Network. Alan Bretherton from Southport has agreed to take over the running of Kidstamps from September 2015. He replaces Maureen and Tim Cory who had run the club for eight years, providing starter packs and quarterly gift packs of stamps, first days covers and other philatelic items donated by collectors and dealers. Packs have been sent out to over 2000 children in recent years and feedback has been very positive. One parent recently wrote “My son received a package from you this morning. I was astonished at what it contained! You really have been most generous. It is also refreshing to find that there are still people out there who want to share their delight in something with kids for free. Thank you very much.”
Youngsters can download an application form from the Kidstamps page of the Stamp Active website. If they send the form off with a large stamp-addressed envelope, they will receive the starter pack and a voucher. If they return the voucher, they will continue to receive further stamps packs and other items every three months.
