Michael Thompson gets the Bill Hart Award 2017

Stamp Active has presented the Bill Hart Award in 2017 to Michael Thompson. The award is given just once each year to an individual who has given outstanding service to youth philately over many years. Michael, who is currently President of the National Philatelic Society, has run the popular children’s auction on Stampex Saturday for a long time. He was presented with a framed certificate, signed the roll of honour and received a canvas print of Lundy Island, one of his favourite collecting areas. Commenting on the award, John Davies, Chairman of Stamp Active said “He always entertains and encourages the children and ensures that no one goes home empty-handed. Michael’s professionalism and enthusiasm has established it as a favourite activity amongst our young collectors.
