Penny Black Winner at Autumn Stampex

Penny Black Winner

Guilia Barker from London was the winner of the 1840 Penny Black donated by Mulready Philatelics following the free children’s auction on the Saturday of Autumn Stampex. The kids auction has become a popular feature of this twice-yearly show with young collectors bidding for 30 different lots using points obtained by completing the free activities on the stand. Everyone who takes part in the auction has a chance of winning a penny black. Lewis Watson picked up another prize of a framed set of Alice in Wonderland stamps donated by Royal Mail. The auction was run by the ever-popular Michael Thompson, current President of the National Philatelic Society.
