Penny Black winner at Kids Corner

The Kids Corner at Autumn Stampex again proved popular with young collectors. The theme of “ALL AT SEA” was reflected in a range of activities and displays, provided by Ian Varey, to keep the youngsters engaged and inspired.

As collectors completed the various activities, they can use their points in a free children’s auction on the Saturday afternoon with thirty lots to win. This was the highlight of the event for the budding philatelists and bidding was lively. At the end of the auction, there was a free draw for a Penny Black, sponsored by Mulready Philatelics and My Penny Blacks. This was won by Charlotte Rosevear, who was presented with her prize by Robin Cassell and Doug McGill (pictured).
The sponsors will again be providing a major prize, possible an 1840 twopenny blue, for a free draw at the end of the children’s auction.
Next time, Stamp Active Network will also be promoting the theme of “BRING A CHILD TO STAMPEX” with a free draw for the adults on the Saturday. Watch this space for further details!
