STAMP ACTIVE at AUTUMN STAMPEX

Autumn Stampex saw the launch of a new “Youth Zone” run by the Stamp Active Network, with additional features on Postcrossing and StampIT. World Postcard Day was celebrated on the Friday with a talk by RPSL President, Peter Cockburn with visitors receiving a free post card.

The theme of the activities from Stamp Active was Birds and young collectors could find stamps on this popular theme and complete other challenges to win points to exchange for prizes or use the points the free children’s auction on Saturday. Once again, the auction proved highly popular with lively bidding for the most attractive items. The auction was held in the new Spink Auditorium and it provided a great venue for the auction which was hosted for the first time by Keith Burton. At the end of the auction, there was a free prize draw for a Penny Black, donated by Robin Cassell of Mulready Philatelics. This was won by Micah McCaulay, aged 6, from London.

There were no youth competitions at Autumn Stampex due to restrictions on school stamp clubs during the pandemic but these will start again at Autumn Stampex 2022. Full details can be found on the Stamp Active website www.stampactive.co.uk
