The People Hive
Recognising an Ability not a Disability?
If you are a stamp collector and wish to help a charity, have you considered that many people with an apparent disability may have talents that they wish to use, if given the opportunity?
Commencing in 2018, the People Hive was set up in Twickenham to celebrate the opportunities that a high street shop can provide with space for locally produced goods, a communal area and office.
Donated philatelic material is one of the ways that are used to encourage social interaction and discussion. This can include what countries are represented, what is illustrated and why the items have a personal interest. This approach is ideal for a wide range of hidden talents. The photograph shows the stamp sorting in operation.
